Ms. Katherine C.

Ms. Katherine C. is an internationally acclaimed flutist and dedicated music educator with an extraordinary career spanning major orchestral stages, higher education, and global masterclasses. Holding a Master of Music degree on full scholarship from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music at Johns Hopkins University, she brings decades of rich performance and pedagogical expertise to the studio and classroom.

An exceptionally accomplished performer, Ms. Katherine has won top honors in numerous prestigious competitions, including the Mid-Atlantic Flute Competition, the National Littmann Music Competition in New York City, and the Agnes Fowler Wind Competition. Her extensive orchestral career includes serving as Principal Flute with ensembles such as the State Chamber Orchestra of Coahuila, the Chihuahua Philharmonic Orchestra, the Acapulco Philharmonic, and the Valley Symphony Orchestra, as well as guest principal and substitute roles with the All Souls Orchestra at Royal Albert Hall in London, the Wuhan Philharmonic in China, the Minería Symphony Orchestra in Mexico City, and the New World Symphony. She has studied with and performed in masterclasses for some of the world's premier flutists, including Jeanne Baxtresser, Sir James Galway, Jeffrey Khaner, Leone Buyse, Martha Aarons, and William Hebert.

Throughout her teaching career, Ms. Katherine has held key academic leadership positions, including Department Chair of Wind & Chamber Music at the Conservatory of Music in Chihuahua, Mexico, and Head of the Flute Department at the University of Cauca in Colombia. Her teaching experience ranges from preparatory programs at the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory and the University of Michigan Prep Department to youth orchestras and several community music schools. Beyond traditional academic roles, she has led performance masterclasses and lecture-recitals across the United States, Central and South America, Europe, and Asia.

Deeply committed to student growth, Ms. Katherine brings energy, versatility, and encouragement to every lesson. She loves guiding musicians on their personal artistic journeys, focusing on establishing a solid, well-rounded foundation that gives students the technical confidence and creative freedom to thrive wherever music takes them!
