With a strong foundation in piano performance, psychology, and therapeutic teaching methods, she emphasizes technique development, musical expression, and confidence building while adapting lessons to meet each student’s unique learning style.
Ms. Skylar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance with a minor in Psychology from Kent State University at Stark and completed her Music Therapy Equivalency at Cleveland State University. She is currently pursuing board certification as a Music Therapist (MT-BC) and Ohio licensure. Her professional experience includes music-based work in healthcare and educational settings, where she has supported emotional expression and engagement through structured, purposeful musical experiences.
In addition to her therapeutic training, Ms. Skylar brings years of experience as a piano educator and collaborative musician. She has taught students of all ages and skill levels, focusing on strong technical foundations, age-appropriate strategies, performance preparation, and fostering intrinsic motivation. Her work as a church pianist further reflects her belief in music as a joyful, connecting, and meaningful art form.
