Ms. Alison D.

Ms. Alison is a dedicated pianist who earned a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at Oberlin Conservatory, where she studied with internationally renowned artist and pedagogue Professor Haewon Song. Originally from China, she received her foundational training at the Music School Attached to the Xinghai Conservatory of Music.
Ms. Alison has performed extensively as both a soloist and chamber musician across the U.S., China, Spain, and the UK. Her notable appearances include performances at prestigious venues such as the Van Cliburn Recital Hall, Guangzhou Opera House, and Severance Hall.
A prizewinner at the Ninth Hong Kong International Piano Competition, Ms. Alison was also selected to participate in the prestigious PianoTexas International Festival and the Gijon International Piano Festival in Spain, where she attended on scholarship as a young artist.
Her artistic growth has been shaped through masterclasses with distinguished pianists including Arie Vardi, Douglas Humpherys, Robert McDonald, and Jean-Efflam Bavouzet.
In addition to her performance career, Ms. Alison is a committed educator with over eight years of teaching experience. She currently teaches secondary piano at Oberlin Conservatory and has served as a music theory teaching assistant. Known for nurturing each student’s creativity and passion, she tailors her instruction to support individual expression and growth.
Outside of music, Ms. Alison enjoys exploring cuisines from around the world and finds joy in cooking. She is also an avid animal lover and shares her home with five beloved cats.
