Ms. Mary S. is a violinist of rare distinction, recognized for her profound commitment to her craft and an extraordinary, unbroken discipline of over 5,800 consecutive days of practice. She was hand-selected for her exceptional artistry and highly recommended by faculty at the world-renowned Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
Artistry & Performance
Ms. Mary refined her craft at the Oberlin Conservatory and the Ottawa Suzuki Strings Institute, studying under legendary pedagogues including Almita Vamos, Shirley Star, and Joseph Kaminsky. A recipient of the prestigious Buder Music Scholarship, she has won top prizes at the Rising Talents, Northland Symphony, and MFMC Concerto Competitions. Following her acclaimed solo debut with the Town and Country Symphony Orchestra, she has performed with the Gateway and University City Symphony Orchestras.
Pedagogical Excellence
As an educator, Ms. Mary blends world-class technical expertise with a nurturing approach. She has completed formal Suzuki Teacher Training through Unit 2, allowing her to masterfully guide young musicians using the Suzuki method. She is dedicated to cultivating a positive, supportive studio culture where students—from ambitious beginners to advanced artists—achieve technical mastery while genuinely having fun.
Beyond the Studio
A true polymath, Ms. Mary also plays classical guitar and holds a Fourth-Degree Black Belt in Global Traditional Martial Arts. Balancing her intense drive with a warm, grounded spirit, she loves watching Disney short films with her younger sister. She brings this same sense of joy, imagination, and vibrant energy to every lesson, inspiring both rapid growth and a lifelong love for music.
