Private Lessons with Ms. Laoise M, Violin
Ms. Laoise M, Violin
Background: Oberlin Conservatory of Music, violin performance with Sibbi Berhardsson.
Ms. Laoise began her Suzuki studies at the age of 3 ½ with Kristi Manno and Takaya Emura while in Japan. While placing in multiple competitions such as the Young Musicians Festival, WMMC Competition, and Coltman Chamber Competition, she has also been awarded first place in the Great Composers Competition in solo as well as in Chamber Music. She studied with Sandy Yamamoto (faculty of University of Texas, Austin) for 4 years. Having many opportunities to commission pieces for many living composers including Michael Frazier’s “Black Portrait”, her love for contemporary and new music expand greatly. She continues attending multiple high level intensives for violin while chasing her passion to make music with other people.
From Ms. Laoise: "One of the most important yet difficult things about violin is not just technique, but the ability to understand that persistence and passion will get you further than just natural talent.
My first few lessons with each student will consist of learning about their needs and assessing their strengths as a violinist. For the most part, my typical lesson will begin with technique that will be catered to each student in order to build a solid foundation. My goal for each student is not only build their technique as a violinist, but to build their passion and confidence as a musician."

"...Engaging and fun. She caters to the students needs, but also does a wonderfully job enhancing their strengths.”
